Both me and a colleague attended your [Living and Leading Change: Change Manager’s Certificate Program]. After we completed the course, we met monthly to discuss change management theories and the templates and material you provided.
We worked to apply it to our organization’s co-location and move, which has been a longstanding strategic priority and a key driver in fully integrating our staff after a government mandated amalgamation. Management is hopeful that the move will address some longstanding relationship and culture problems.
What we had intended to do during our monthly “change management” meetings was to ensure the move was managed well. We used the templates you provided to define the need for change, create an intended outcome template, and we created a recipient analysis. From that, we put together a proposal to senior management to develop a new location integration committee with support and input from management. Our proposal was approved and we had full intentions to move forward; however, during this time, our organization was preparing for [major mandated changes]. Needless to say, things became extremely busy in our organization, and dedicated time and commitment was not available for our proposal.
Human Resources is now working to try to re-start the initiative and focus on the strategies we prepared through our initial work.
